How to Use Your B’s Bulletproof DTF Color Swatch

The "Golden Rule" of professional printing: Screens lie, but ink doesn't. When you order our physical color swatch, you aren't just getting a piece of film—you're getting a master calibration tool. Here is how to use it to ensure every customer order comes out perfect.

Step 1: Receive & Inspect

Your B’s Bulletproof Color Swatch arrives as a high-quality, ready-to-press DTF transfer (15" x 15").

  • Note: The colors on the film may look slightly "dull" or different before pressing—this is normal for DTF. The true magic happens once the ink is heat-activated and bonded to the fabric.

Step 2: Choose Your "Master" Fabric

For the most accurate reference, we recommend pressing this swatch onto the garment type you use most often (e.g., a 100% Cotton Black Tee).

  • Pro Tip: Many shops order two swatches: one to press on a Black garment and one for a White garment. This shows you exactly how the white underbase interacts with the fabric color.

Step 3: The Master Press

Press the swatch using our standard recommended settings:

  • Temperature: 300°F - 320°F (150°C - 160°C)

  • Time: 10 Seconds

  • Pressure: Firm/Heavy

  • Peel: Hot Peel

  • Finish Press: 5 Seconds with a Teflon or Parchment sheet for maximum durability.

Step 4: The "Real World" Comparison

Once pressed, you now have a physical library of 255+ colors.

  1. Hold it up: Place your pressed swatch in natural lighting.

  2. Find your match: Choose the exact shade you or your client wants.

  3. Identify the Hex: Look at the Hex Code (e.g., #00FFFF) printed clearly beneath that color block.

Step 5: Design with Confidence

Open your design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva) and enter that specific Hex Code into your color picker.

  • The Result: Because you are using the code that matches our physical ink output, what you see on your pressed swatch is exactly what will come off the printer on your next order. No more test prints, no more wasted film, and zero guesswork.

Why This Saves You Money

  • Eliminate Returns: No more "that blue isn't what I saw on my phone" complaints.

  • Speed Up Proofing: Show the physical swatch to local clients so they can "touch and feel" the color before you print their 50-shirt run.

  • Consistent Branding: Ensure your logos stay the exact same shade across different orders.

Care Instructions for Your Swatch

Keep your pressed swatch hanging in your shop or folded in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent "UV fading," ensuring your color reference stays accurate for years to come.
